Our mission is to honor the life of Carly May Harris by changing the world for those with Down syndrome.

We believe every person with Down syndrome can thrive with the right resources and support.

Since 2007, the Carly May Foundation has raised over $1M to fund programs that intentionally follow the life journey of Carly.

Based in the Twin Cities, we have a long history of offering year-round financial support and advocacy in our local community.

OUR VISION

We recognize that Down syndrome is the most common genetic condition and yet the least funded.

Inspired by the life and legacy of Carly May, we envision a brighter future for those with Down syndrome.

We believe every person with Down syndrome deserves access to life-changing resources and reliable support, no matter their age or background.

Meet Our Board

Founded by Jaime and Maria Harris, the proud parents of Carly May, CMF has been a volunteer-run foundation since our inception. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of our Board, we are uniquely able to give 100% of all donations to our organization partners in celebration of those with Down syndrome.

The Significance of Butterflies

Butterflies symbolize freedom and hope amidst the ever-evolving seasons of life. Often marking the emergence of something new, we released a butterfly during Carly’s memorial to usher in her new life while honoring her time here. Every day, we embrace the butterfly’s message that change can be beautiful.

"Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so, some people have entertained angels without knowing it."
